The Ring is Taken to Rivendell

I painted the original a couple of years ago: a book-version of the hidden vale of Imladris; this new version has Frodo being taken by the Elves to Rivendell. If you look (very) closely you can see 2 pairs of Elf riders, followed by an Elven cart bearing the fallen Hobbit Frodo (after what happened at the Ford), behind him is Strider on foot, and Glorfindel (not Arwen ) on his white horse; behind him near the bridge are the three Hobbits on foot;  then there are two Elves on foot on the bridge, and two more on horseback at the end.

This is a re-working (with added frame and different colour palette) made for the Tolkien art show 'Evil in the Shining Light', Bank Street Arts, Sheffield, through September 2015.
